Hi, I’m Susan,

I founded Buddy’s Professional Pet Lovers in April 2026, but my passion for animals began in childhood, when my mom brought home dogs in need of a second chance—sparking a lifelong dedication. I have over 30 years of volunteer service in pet rescue, including 25 years rescuing, fostering, and rehabilitating pit bulls.

Animal care has truly been my life’s mission. I also owned and managed Bubble Buddies in Williamsburg, Virginia, for over 10 years, building a trusted pet care business and lasting relationships with my loyal clients.

I’ve cared for a wide range of animals—from dogs, cats, and birds to horses, chickens, goats, and reptiles. As an amateur herpetologist, I have hands-on experience with exotic pets like geckos, bearded dragons, and iguanas.

I’m respected in both the pet care industry and nonprofit rescue community, having worked with numerous humane societies and rescue groups. I also spent a year with Stray Cat Blues as a foster home coordinator, where I administered vaccines, subcutaneous fluids, and medications, gaining extensive experience in medical care. I am certified in pet CPR and First Aid. While not a certified trainer, I’ve been trained in basic obedience by professionals with Ring Dog Rescue.

At home, I share my life with my pit bull/mastiff mix, Beastie, and my cats, Figgy and Felix. Above all, I’m deeply committed to the health, happiness, and well-being of every pet in my care.

With over 30 years of experience, we handle everything from medications and behavior monitoring to safe transport, always moving at their pace and ensuring comfort, compassion, and the extra love they deserve—so you can feel confident they’re treated with the extra special care they deserve.

Meet Buddy—the heart behind everything we do. While there have been many beloved dogs in my life, Buddy was the first who was truly mine. I didn’t get everything right in the beginning, but he met every mistake with patience and unconditional love, and in doing so, he helped me grow in ways I never imagined. Buddy showed me just how deeply I was capable of loving another living being, and how much that love could drive me to do better, learn more, and give more than I ever thought possible. He inspired me to become not just a pet owner but a true advocate for their happiness, health, and well-being. His spirit is still with me every day, reminding me to pour the same love, care, and dedication into every animal I have the privilege of looking after.
